Menu bar · macOS 14+

A search bar
that computes.

Beam is what happens when Spotlight gets tired of only opening apps. Math, currency, calendar events, contacts, phone calls — one keystroke away.

What it knows

One bar. Every kind of question.

Beam skips the "which app should I open" step. Type the thing, get the answer.

Money math

Numbers with dollar signs, dashes, and abbreviations — sane.

Currency-aware arithmetic that keeps units straight, expands k/m/b, and handles calculator-style percentages.

Beam converting 20k rmb to $2,950.84
Labels stay in the copy

Type notes with the numbers. They stay for context, not calculation.

Words like "chickens", "lbs", "people" get struck through so the math runs clean — but Copy query + result keeps them.

10 chickens x 2.84 lbs / 4 people = 7.1, with labels struck through
Date arithmetic

Bare numbers default to days after a date.

Chain months, weeks, and days — or skip the unit entirely when the base is obviously a date.

today + 30 + 55 = October 21, 2026
Calendar quick-add

Type an event the way you'd say it.

Title, time, and location parsed together. Shift+Enter to pick a calendar; a default calendar lives in Settings.

Contacts & calling

Ring a phone from your Mac, silently.

Enter dials via iPhone Continuity through Contacts.app — no popup, no FaceTime window. "All options…" pops a menu with every phone, email, and FaceTime target.

Multi-section results

One query. App, definition, files, emoji — all grouped.

Beam merges results across every searcher and lets you reorder or rebind sections in Settings.

Search 'maps' — grouped App / Emoji / Definition / File results
Emoji & unicode

A grid you can keyboard through.

Type any word, get every relevant emoji + unicode glyph. Press Down to focus the grid (blue), then Left/Right/Up/Down to pick.
